Strength Training
What is Strength Training?
Strength training is a form of physical training that aims to improve muscle strength, endurance and/or muscle building. In functional training, it involves the use of resistance, be it through weights, elastic bands or your own body to specifically load and strengthen the muscles. The main goal of strength training is to stress the muscles beyond their normal load in order to cause adaptations in the muscle tissue, resulting in an increase in muscle mass, strength and endurance leads.
The benefits of strength training are many and include increased muscle strength and mass, improved posture and body composition, increased bone density, increased metabolic rate, improved athletic performance and prevention of injuries in everyday life and sports. It is important to note that strength training is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels when done correctly and safely. It can also play an important role in maintaining health in old age as it can prevent muscle loss and bone deterioration.
